Who We Are

bullet

PCHSG, Inc. is a Christian organization, which recognizes the responsibility of all parents to train up their children according to the counsel of God.

bullet

Situations that arise within this group are handled with the counsel and direction of Biblical teaching as the guide.

bullet

Every registered family must share in the operation of the group.

bullet

Member families must be in agreement with the requirements for membership in the corporation.

bullet

PCHSG, Inc. is open to all home schooling families with school age children that reside in the designated geographical area.

bullet

We define a family as a married couple consisting of a male father and a female mother and their children (including any minor children for whom they have been made legal guardians). A family may have only one parent due to circumstances such as, but not limited to, death of a spouse or divorce. Families are not qualified for membership if either parent is on probation for any crime.

bullet

Only those individuals serving in specified areas of responsibility with PCHSG, Inc. (for example, the Board of Directors) are required to sign and be in full agreement with the corporation’s statement of faith.

Our Purpose

The purpose of this Christian organization is two-fold:

bullet

FOR PARENTS:  To provide a framework in which relationships develop among home schooling parents and where educational information is shared. This provides opportunities for mutual encouragement and to learn from one another as parents share concerns and ideas relating to parenting and home schooling.

bullet

FOR CHILDREN:  To provide a means for children of member families to gain a positive identity as home schooled students and to provide opportunities for their social and academic enrichment.

Parent Meetings

Parent meetings are held September through May at 7 pm (usually the second Monday of each month). The purpose for Parent Meetings is to give home schooling parents the opportunity to share, discuss, encourage, support and pray for one another in our home schooling efforts and to provide informational speakers.

Family groups

Each PCHSG, Inc. member family will be assigned to a Family Group. The members of these groups work together to provide age appropriate activities for the students within that group. Each family is required to help plan at least one monthly activity for their group. Each group has a facilitator, who is the contact point for the parents within that group.

Youth Group: Families who only have students in 7th – 12th grades will plan activities for the PCHSG Youth Group. Activities for the Youth Group are open to all PCHSG students who are in grades 7 – 12 and who are at least 12 years of age by October 1, 2001. (Twelve is the minimum age requirement at many facilities the Youth may visit.) Exceptions to include siblings in these activities may be made for a particular activity.
